Ali and Steve

Ali and Steve were my last session of the weekend. What a great way to end it though! I met them on City Island in Harrisburg and then walked all over the city. These two cracked me up! Steve was very quiet while Ali and I talked, but then whenever it was time to shoot, he was the crazy one. It is nice when you find a couple that will do the crazy things you ask….sorry Liesa, I know I said I wouldn’t make people jump….but it was necessary!
Here are a few from our gorgeous day!!

Amanda and Brian

On Friday night, Katie and I headed to my church for Amanda and Brian’s wedding. I always love to do weddings in my church because it feels like home. Plus, It is like a big family reunion. What a beautiful day for a wedding. This was one of the most relaxed weddings I have done. The ceremony went perfect and I was able to have a little more creative freedom. Amanda and Brian were up for anything. So, we headed up to Higher Grounds coffee house on Main St. for a little fun. The girls in there were so excited to see us and let us do whatever we wanted.
Afterward we went back to the church for a little reception. I hope you enjoyed you honeymoon! Here is your show!

Lauren and Mike

Yesterday, I met Lauren and Mike in Philly for their engagement session. It was an amazing day! The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. It was great to be able to come back to where I used to live. Even though I had spent so much time there, Mike was able to show me places that I never knew existed. I couldn’t believe it! We even went to walk by my old apartment….which was now a huge pile of rubble….so sad!
We started off at Love park and ended on South Street. I wanted to take them to one of my favorite things to look at every morning on my way to school. We had trouble finding it again, but it has been so many years since I was there. This place has grown tremendously! There is an artist who has been doing tile mosaics for years…now, it is a museum, so to speak. Really indescribeable….
After our session, we went to lunch at Fado’s. It is a great little Irish pub off of Walnut. It made for a great private moment between Mike and Lauren.
Here are a few from our day! Thanks guys for everything!!

Kids and pickles

I promise, I don’t torture kids by making them eat sour things….
I just find their faces hysterical!
Tristan makes the best faces when he eats pickles…at first. Then he wants more!

An incredible week

I headed to Vegas with a preconcieved notion that I would be attached at the hip to my friends I went with and the photographers I already knew. Wrong.
In the wedding photography world there are “famous” people too. Photographers that we look up to and who would intimidate you by how good they are. But, I learned that MOST of them are people to. They don’t snub you off like you would think. They do suck every once in a while too. So, I just walked up and started talking. I met so many incredible people this week. I learned that I do have the ability to do this well.
We all struggle with our own insecurities and I know I need to get over them.
Anyway….. just to fill you in on the following images…
I had attended a bunch of seminars this week, a lot of them business. One imparticular was a desert bridal shoot with John Michael Cooper and David Beckstead. Wow!!! It was cold, dusty and absolutely worth standing in it! So I take no credit for those shots. Yeah, I shot them, but it was all their set up. (my point n shoot also b/c I was afraid it would be ruined. I am sooo regreting not taking it there.)
Other nights, we would walk around and shoot, or go to parties, and even veg in the room. So here they are….just a few….These are my girls I went with. I can’t tell you how hard we laughed all week. Since Jen and Ang aren’t photogs, we split our time up in seminars and then hanging out with them. I am sooooo tired!
